COURSE DESCRIPTION:
ESSENTIALS provides an intense and rigorous training
experience that 
focuses on the individual skills and habits that playmakers
possess. This course features specially designed activities
and competitions to eliminate ineffective play and instill
smart, efficient basketball. Players learn tools and
techniques that will give them a competitive advantage
against bigger and faster athletes, including how to control
a pesky defender, battle through contact, attack the lane,
see the court, and finish at the rim in traffic. Essentials participants will also benefit from learning
how to train productively and lead authentically—by leading
oneself with excellence, discipline, and composure. Open to
male and female high school and college players.

starting point and introduction to PGC for younger athletes.

themselves as mature and dedicated athletes on the court, and as focused

is PGC’s
flagship course and is the
original Dick DeVenzio/Dena Evans PGC course. While Essentials
focuses on individual play, Think The Game focuses on team play and
teaches players how to make the right reads on the court, how to
communicate effectively, and how to master all the “little things” that
stand out to a good coach. Players learn how to become a threat on every
offensive possession, beat pressure with poise, attack defenders in the
lane, and develop defensive pestitude. Participants will also learn how
to lead their teams to championships, how to look special in game
situations, and how to get noticed by coaches and scouts at the next
level. This course is open to male and female high school and
college players. Mature incoming high school freshmen may attend.

The Shooting Lab, players learn how great
shooters think, shoot and practice. The course is designed to help
athletes develop a shooter’s mindset, build sound shooting techniques,
and train effectively ‘in the lab’ to work on their shot. Players will
also benefit from specific training in the variety of shots that great
scorers need in their toolbox. The Shooting Lab will benefit players who
are looking to increase their confidence in their shot, as well as their
shooting range, speed and accuracy

players. Mature incoming high school freshmen may attend, but no
