Dick Devenzio/Dena Evans POINT GUARD COLLEGE 2008
Anderson, IN
Camp
description: Point Guard College provides an intense, no-nonsense,
collegiate-style education on how to play and think the game
effectively. Our curriculum features three distinct courses for
athletes and coaches that have been specifically designed to teach
players to play the game intelligently, to be "coaches on the court",
and to be leaders during games, practices and in everyday life.
Advanced Concepts is the follow up to
Think The Game. In this
course, we use classroom and court time to break down the simple
(and not-so-simple) reads that allow great players to stay one
step ahead of their competition. At Advanced Concepts, athletes
enjoy an environment similar to an upper-level college course
- smaller in size - allowing for enhanced interactions and
increased personal feedback from our coaches. See camp website for
more info and requirements.
Registration Requirements:
Advanced Concepts is only open to players
who have completed the Think The Game course in a
previous year. The only exception is college players, who may
attend Think The Game for the first time and Advanced Concepts in
the same summer. Advanced Concepts has been designed for older
athletes - players who
are entering 12th grade and up, although players entering 11th
grade or younger may still apply*.
"If you
only have one camp to attend this summer, make it Point Guard College.
If you are going to attend five camps this summer make them all Point
Guard College."

THINK THE GAME is the original Dick DeVenzio/Dena
Evans “Point Guard College” course. Great basketball
players have to learn to Think the Game! Talent
and instinct alone aren’t enough to lead a team to a
championship. There are thousands of
“little things” that win basketball games. At THINK
THE GAME, we’ll discuss the whole
“leadership package” that great players must possess.
You will be placed in situations that challenge both your
leadership and communication skills, and you will learn ways to
make yourself and your teammates better, both in practice and in
games. See website for more.
