  • Georgetown Prep Girls Basketball Camp
    Bethesda, Maryland

Have you been looking for a basketball camp specifically designed for girls? Former Georgetown University standout and current Georgetown Prep Varsity Basketball Coach Dwayne Bryant compiles an all-star staff of current women college basketball players, former professional women players and current girl’s high school coaches for a camp experience designed specifically for female basketball players! With six separate basketball courts, we are able to divide our campers into small instructional groups and provide them with the best possible developmental basketball experience.

The girls spend the morning rotating through drill work and mini games that reinforce the specific techniques and teaching points that they are focusing on for the day. After making it through the day’s teaching sessions, we break out into games and tournaments that help us to teach team play and reward our campers with a fun experience to put their hard work practicing into game scenarios. Our coaches will use each game as an instructional experience, pausing the games at times to point out teachable moments and implement other team-oriented philosophies. For girls ages 10-15 years. 1 week sessions from 8:30am – 3:30 pm with options for Extended Day Training (EDT) and Before Care:

Dick Devenzio/Dena Evans POINT GUARD COLLEGE 2009

Camp description: Point Guard College provides an intense, no-nonsense, collegiate-style education on how to play and think the game effectively. Our curriculum features three distinct courses for athletes and coaches that have been specifically designed to teach players to play the game intelligently, to be "coaches on the court", and to be leaders during games, practices and in everyday life.

THINK THE GAME is the original Dick DeVenzio/Dena Evans “Point Guard College” course.  Great basketball players have to learn to Think the Game!  Talent and instinct alone aren’t enough to lead a team to a championship.  There are thousands of “little things” that win basketball games. At THINK THE GAME, we’ll discuss the whole “leadership package” that great players must possess.  You will be placed in situations that challenge both your leadership and communication skills, and you will learn ways to make yourself and your teammates better, both in practice and in games.
