Camp description: Point Guard College provides an intense, no-nonsense, collegiate-style education on how to play and think the game effectively. Our curriculum features three distinct courses for athletes and coaches that have been specifically designed to teach players to play the game intelligently, to be "coaches on the court", and to be leaders during games, practices and in everyday life. Three courses from which to pick. See below.

COURSE 1: ESSENTIALS is an intense, rigorous training experience focusing on the physical skills, mental approach and training disciplines that great point guards possess. Not the typical "fundamentals" taught at other "camps," Essentials teaches PGC fundamentals. See website for more.

COURSE 2: THINK THE GAME is the original Dick DeVenzio/Dena Evans “Point Guard College” course.  Great basketball players have to learn to Think the Game!  Talent and instinct alone aren’t enough to lead a team to a championship.  There are thousands of “little things” that win basketball games. At THINK THE GAME, we’ll discuss the whole “leadership package” that great players must possess.  You will be placed in situations that challenge both your leadership and communication skills, and you will learn ways to make yourself and your teammates better, both in practice and in games. See website for more.

COURSE 3: PREP SCHOOL  Prep School has been designed to provide players with an introduction to the Point Guard College curriculum. While the Essentials and Think The Game courses were designed to prepare players to be successful in college, Prep School has been designed to prepare younger players for high school varsity basketball.

The Prep School course is a 4-night, 5-day experience that is open to players of ALL positions, as the focus is on playing the game the right way, regardless of position. Each day at Prep School is comprised of teaching-focused, yet fun and competitive court sessions, condensed and interactive classroom sessions, and a daily video breakdown session.
Players learn FIVE critical skills at Prep School:
1. Body Control and Balance
2. Footwork and Shooting
3. Ball Control
4. Passing and Vision
5. How To Move Effectively

Eligibility:
Prep School is open to boys and girls entering 7th to 10th grade. Players of all positions are welcome.
Tuition Fee:  Players - $645  /  Observing Coaches - $475
Camp director: Prep School courses are led by a team of Point Guard College Prep School directors

"If you only have one camp to attend this summer, make it Point Guard College. If you are going to attend five camps this summer make them all Point Guard College." -Greg Brittenham, NBA Coach for Player Development, NY Knicks

  • POINT GUARD COLLEGE 2010
San Marcos, San Antonio and Denton, Texas

For High School and College Players.

For High School and College Players. See website for more.

COURSE 3: REP SCHOOL  Prep School has been designed to provide players with an introduction to the Point Guard College curriculum.

"If you only have one camp to attend this summer, make it Point Guard College. If you are going to attend five camps this summer make them all Point Guard College." -Greg Brittenham, NBA Coach for Player Development, NY Knicks
